| This method is a popular one in the hectic In A Pinch household. By following the instructions below, you and your family will always have healthy and flavorful chicken to cook “In A Pinch”.
Now we all have busy schedules and none of us really wants to spend several hours daily preparing a meal for their loved ones. While we always try to obtain the freshest cooking ingredients, we realize that the reality is actually quite the opposite, especially during the middle of the week. Our idea is to season and freeze batches of seasoned chicken breasts so that they’ll be made available at any time.
- Chicken Breast. Buy as much chicken breast, thighs, and legs as you and you family will consume over the next 2-3 weeks. We prefer any high quality brand chicken breast sold in large volume packages.
- Strong, quart size freezer bags, such as Ziploc Freezer Bags, to store your seasoned chicken.
- A variety of seasoning blends and rubs from In A Pinch Fine Spices!
- Using a separate, plastic cutting board for poultry (it's easier to clean), open the package(s) and trim all fat off the chicken breasts.
- Take your first In a Pinch seasoning, and pat it all over as many breasts as you'd like in that flavor.
- Put 2-4 breasts with the same seasoning into a large freezer bag, and mark the date and seasoning name right onto the bag.
- Repeat with as many seasonings as you'd like!
- Place one package of chicken in a bowl and defrost in the fridge overnight (or for 2 days at most); or
- If you don't have time to defrost overnight, use your microwave defrost setting.
- Prepare the chicken using any of our suggested cooking methods.
- Try using different meats. Pork, beef, lamb, or any meat works well!
